onshore in singapore!
Thanks a million, girls, for your warm wishes! I've safely landed...and now I've to sort out my passport (which expires in 4 months but I have my current visa attached...oh the complications!), and I have to get used to hiking cab fares... What happened to cheap fares? I came back expecting cheap cab fares, but they're now more or less comparable with Australian cab fares...Gah! I blame the rising oil prices... grrr...
But enough of my gripes over cabs...I had the best plane ride ever! I was right at the tail end, and it was relatively empty, so I had three seats to myself! My prayers for solitude were granted! I'm really finicky about having my own space on planes, so I'm one of those people who don't really like to talk to their neighbours on the other seats...I'm more of a "read and listen to music for 8 hours" kinda gal. Imagine my delight when no one sat next to me! And the entertainment bit was great...I watched The Jane Austen Book Club (an intelligent chick flick!), and The Last Legion [based in part on the book of the same title by Valerio Massimo Manfredi] (Colin Firth does look strange in a Roman military outfit, but hot nonetheless!) and 3 episodes of Rome! I barely had time to read the Book of Joby though. Bummer. But I suppose 2 movies and episodes of one of my favourite shows ever made up for it. Although the plane ride itself was a bit rocky; maybe because we were flying into storm clouds. So that was a bit scary, but no biggie!
And in all the hoo-ha over packing liquids, gels, creams and aerosols less than 100ml, I forgot to pack bronzer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gah! If there's one makeup item that I absolutely cannot live without, it's bronzer. Oh well, at least I have some bronzer in my makeup palettes, but they're only itty bitty! Need.to.buy.bronzer.
